Eureka! and BSG squee

Eureka 1.01 Plot Okay here it is. A US Marshal and his teenage daughter are in an accident near a town  that happens to be populated by scientists employed by and under the protection of the US government. Among these scientists are the family (i.e. descendants) of Einstein, Oppenheimer, and other famous scientists, geniuses and technological wizards. In return they develop new technologies and sciences. While waiting for their car to be repaired Over all I liked the plot of the episode despite a few points that I felt were contrived and implausible. For example, the whole Federal Marshal abusing...

Eureka, Dead Like Me, Battlestar Galactica

Quick no-spoiler responses here. More detailed responses and thoughts tomorrow. Eureka   Liked it. Has good potential. Think I'll put it on my first tier tv watching, maybe second. Depends on the next few episodes. Dead Like Me As good as I remembered it. Heh. Also liked how they (SFC) worked around the original harsh language of the show. Battlestar Galactica preview EEEEEEEEE!!!!! *bouncy glee* Is it October yet? I want my BSG! *gleefully bouncing* OK *is calm* Off to sleep.

Sci Fi Friday Reviews 07/14/2006 Part 2

Warning: Spoilers under the cut! Plotline: Sheppard's fighter disappears in a battle with the Wraith and Weir is recalled to Stargate Command. So we return to the battle between the Daedalus and the Hive ships and the disappearance of Sheppard's fighter, with a bit furhter clarification of what happened. Interestingly Sheppard is bellied up to a Wraith Hive ship in Hyperspace. Col. Caldwell has returned to Atlantis to report, make repairs, and redeploy against the Wraith. While not as competely in shambles as the Odyssey back on Earth, Daedalus is still pretty messed up and on its own with only...

Sci Fi Friday Reviews 07/14/2006 Part 1

Reviews and comments for SG-1 and Atlantis under the cut. Warning: Spoilers abound! Plotline: As SG-1 faces the perils of the Orii invasion Vala begins birth to Adria. First off, wow has it really been ten seasons of Stargate SG-1? Who knew the show would last this long? It always had the potential obviously but it has stumbled at times in making stories and characters interesting and fun to watch. So we open with Vala's daughter being some kind of Orii messiah type that will lead their follows to victory, blah, bla, blah. Insert usual Orii pseudo-religous gobbledy-gook. I admit...
Gates, gates, gates, gates. Why are they showing that Quest for Atlantis thing? It was boring and eye roll worthy the first time around. Oh well. Firefly is on? What?! A Firefly marathon? Okay. Off to watch. Sure I have the DVDs but going to watch anyway to forget my annoyance with the school's Fin Aid office again. Oh yeah... Ka-whoosh!
Gates tonight! *glee* Okay. For whatever reason the office closed up and we were told to go home. It's not like there weren't things needing to be done but I'll take it. I guess I'll watch an hour or so of the continuing stupidity in the world (ie the ME*), get something to eat, clean the apartment, exercise, and then relax and glee over tonight's Gates. *ME=Middle East Expect some review and commentary on Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis tonight and/or tomorrow. Under a spoiler protecting cut, of course. Ka-woosh!

T-1 and counting

The Gates return tomorrow! *bouncy glee* Fin Aid office seems to have everything settled so hopefully I'm all finally set for my final semester. My brother dropped by today for a visit. We had fun catching up on stuff: how my cats Romulus and Remus were doing living with his cats Cammy and NaToth, the local craziness in Phoenix with the serial sniper and serial rapist running around unchecked, the insanity in the middle east, airplanes, cars, the space program, and so forth and so on. We also talked a lot about various TV shows we've been watching: Blade, Battlestar...
