A Measure of Something

I got to thinking a little bit more about BSG 3.07... Spoilerish thoughts! I got to thinking a little bit on "A Measure of Salvation" and came to the conclusion that while the ideas were interesting there seemed to be written rather weakly. The Virus Solution Thinking back, everyone was acting like the virus was simply gone. Couldn't the Colonials acquire it from the dead Cylons and maintain samples of the virus and the "cure" for any future needed deployment or means of countering the Cylons? It just seemed odd that so many seemed willing to just sort of white...

Head in the stars

Is it a good thing or a bad thing when an Astrophysicistr looks at you oddly for suggesting that the scientists simply create a planetary classifications system along the lines of the one used for classifying stars to end the whole what is a planet debate?  Obviously it's harder to implement something like that than propose it but he didn't dismiss the idea outright and others in the class had admitted wondering the same thing but he just kind of ignored it and moved on. *shrug* Thinking about the universe...

Miscellaneous stuff…

Before I forget... Mike (michaelhinman ) - I hope you have a speedy recovery from your emergency surgery. My best wishes and thoughts go out to you. Kinda of bored awaiting DW to come on since I'm trying to avoid the flist until after I see tonight's BSG. I made a Six icon for BSG while watching the Heroes repeat on SFC similar to my new Leoben one but it looks kind of funky. I don't really like it. Note to self: Make Hiro icon. Or find more Hiro icons to adopt. :) Which reminds me... It seems like just...

Thinking BSG

Seasons change with their scenery Weaving time in a tapestry Won't you stop and remember me* Battlestar Galactica Season 1: The End of the World As We Know It season. Season 2: The Silent Lucidity season. Season 3: The Salvation is Free season (so far) * Hazy Shade of Winter, The Bangels

BSG Drabble: The Five

This is just a short, sort of unfocused drabble. Mildly spoilerish for 3.06: Torn The Five "What are you doing here?" She asked, eyeing the blond with some suspicion as she noted his eyes fixed on the canister in front of him. This canister. One of the five avoided by all Cylons, all but him. Leoben smiled slightly, a strange gleam in his eyes as he rested his hand on the container gently. It was a gesture that made her nervous. "Do you ever wonder about them? The Five?" "Never." She replied confidently. "Why should we? They're dangerous." "Absolutely," he...

Random round up of the day…

Not much to say really tonight. Had a nice visit with my brother in which we gleed over Rummy getting the boot as Defense Secretary (we've hated the guy long before he became SoD), agreed the Reps deserved to take a beating in the elections and that the GOP has lost its way, the general results from Arizona's elections and propositions (no surprises on all counts), caught up on friends (all alive and well including the ones serving in the military), made plans for Thanksgiving, and generally just hung out. We also talked tv shows (BSG, Eureka, Heroes, and Doctor...
Grr... I hate people who claim to be Arizonan's speaking for true native Arizonans. In this case I happened to catch some chica on Fox News talking about immigration and her opposition to McCain. How do I know she's not from Arizona? She said a town's name wrong. Well not wrong. But definitely not the way an Arizonan would say it. The word: Prescott. Arizonans pronounce Prescott --  Preskit. (Yeah we're wierd.) She clearly said Prescott, even overemphasizing the oh sound. Yeah, minor annoyance to be sure but then I am an Arizonan. Just like people in other states we...
