BSG, Atlantis, SG-1 ratings

The ratings for SciFi channel season premiere night: Stargate: SG-1          2.1 Stargate: Atlantis       2.2 Battlestar Galactica   2.6 I honestly can't say I'm surprised at the numbers. Not bad for SG1 and Atlantis considering the noteable changes occuring on both shows this season. BSG's numbers I'm not surprised by either, given the continued high production values and stories.
Just continuing my updates for the memories section of my favourite BSG fanfic at various LJs. Seriously considering trying my hand at some BSG fanfic, but thinking I should wait until I've wrapped up the global intelligence essays for school are finished.

Just hanging ’round

Not doing much today. Started collecting my fav bsg fics from various LJ members and getting used to the operation of LJ. On a non-SF note, heard about the movie based on Bob Baer's See No Evil book. Not sure if I want to go see it. I seriously doubt Hollywood could take a real life former CIA agents exploits and make it a decent movie that actually follows reality without wanting to throw in the usual overly hyped Hollywood special effects and gimmekry (is that a word?). I only even noticed the movie because of the Global Intelligence Studies...

Adama & Tigh Thoughts

Thoughts and theories on the history of Cmdr Adama and Col. Tigh. How they met, becamse friends, comrades, and shipmates and the role this past had in shaping the Battlestar Galactica universe. Spoiler Warning: 2.01 Scattered. Even before the airing of BSG 2.01 Scattered I'd wondered at the history of William Adama and Saul Tigh in the Colonial Fleet. Things like how they met, what they did, and so on. I had two schools of thought on the subject. The first, like many fans and fanfic writers, had them as old war buddies who flew against the Cylons together and just...

Sci Fi Friday

Well over all I realy enjoyed the new seasons of Stargate: SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis, and Battlestar Galactica. My thoughts on the new seasons can be found beyond the cut. Warning: Spoilers Abound! Stargate SG-1's Avalon I thought Avalon was nicely done in how they introduced Lt. Col. Cameron Mitchell (ably played by Ben Browder of Farscape fame and a favourite actor of mine) into the world of SG-1 without seeming too forced, though I'm sure a number of RDA and SG fans will complete disagree with me in this sentiment. Obviously this episode was about Cameron's attempts at rebuilding SG-1...

New Journal

Well this is my first LiveJournal, though not my first blog. I've got one over at Blogger and another at my website, but I decided what the hell. A lot of scifi fans I know (via boards, chats, lurking, etc) seem to have migrated themselves over to LJ. So, here I am following the rest of the sheep. Baa baa baa. Now the purpose of this journal? Simple: science fiction. In particular my interest in a variety of science fiction shows and fandoms. Guess we'll see how long this lasts or whether I'll get bored and leave another e-carcass to...
