He ignored the others around him, listening in supplication to flow of the Hybrid’s words and arguing amongst themselves over the meaning. He shook his head sadly and waited with the infinite patience that would reveal the patterns before them, the patterns only the Hybrid understood. He had questions. He had thought he understood the patterns, but the pattern had changed in ways unexpected.

…M8. 90 x 40 Arc minutes. 5200 light years. The Archer will show the way…

That thought made him strangely content. In some ways, the chaos of Kara Thrace, was in and of itself a pattern of intricate beauty and ceaseless fascination for him. Understanding the patterns created in the wake of her passage was the key to everything. In the heretic would be the salvation of all. Of this he was certain even as he kept such knowledge to himself.

“There is no pattern.”

“There is. There must be.”

“It is meaningless.”

“We must be patient and wait for all to be revealed.”

…during the transformation there must necessarily be a redistribution of the components…

He smiled slightly to himself, silently acknowledging the last comment as having a glimmer of truth. But they still did not understand. Even his model could not see the patterns anymore. They had allowed themselves to project the stream around them instead of stand on the shore. They had allowed themselves to become like the baser models like the Eights and Sixes and this now were succumbing to the weakness of projection to hide the truth of God’s universe.

…the fabric of the universe could shatter. The perfect tone elicits a mathematical precision unparalleled…

He, and a few others who insisted on using the name of Leoben instead of their model number, had remained fully immersed in the glory and the agony that comprised God’s universe. All the pain, all the pain, and everything in between experienced to strip away the artifice of humanity and Cylon alike so as to better understand the glory that is God. It was what made Leoben favored, made him see the truth that no others could.

So he waited and listened. The Hybrid would indicate when God was listening and would guide him on to the next step, explain His designs through the ceaseless vocalizations of these blessed beings.

…too listen for what you can not see. Look for what you cannot hear…

He bowed his head not the least surprised that he need not ask his question. Good knew all. He murmured his thanks to the Hybrid and gave a prayer of thanksgiving to God. Of course the solution was so simple; he should have changed his perspective as the Hybrids had been blessed to do. He rose to his feet surprising the others beside him who looked at him with hopeful expressions. He pitied them and without explanation departed to his chamber to ruminate on this new secret revealed to him.

…the heretic will be the savior…
