I can't believe it was 110 degrees in Phoenix, AZ today. Freaking hot! Heck, it's still 99 degrees at the time I posted this. Insane, even by Arizona standards. Hopefully the promised cooling trend for later this week is correct, though I'm heavily doubting their claims of a 20 degree drop in temperature by Thursday. Life's been hectic since last Wednesday. Well technically since that Monday when it was confirmed my mom's cancer returned. Wednesday, though she started bleeding for no apparent reason and ended up in ICU. So after a number of transfusions, fluids, and loads of other medical stuff I didn't really understand she had stabilized by Saturday night, and they decided to release her Sunday night. Even they admit to being puzzled over her bleeding stopping as suddenly as it started. The ongoing theory is that an exam she had a couple of weeks prior may have not healed properly or somehow the incision hadn't healed properly and tore open again. In any case she's fine, for now, and getting working with the doctors to see how to treat her cancer again. I got a little amusement out of her asking me whether I'd recorded Sarah Jane, Doctor Who, and BSG so she could watch them while bringing her home from the hospital. I know she watched them already. I'll have to make sometime to watch them tomorrow or Wednesday so I can at put up a quick review for BSG. It's kind of weird but I feel rather optimistic about everything despite the situation. Eh, maybe it's the heat getting to this ol' desert rat.
