Just enough to be dangerous…

So I now have my nice, shiny BSAE diploma. Run! Flee! The graduation ceremony went as expected though the guest speaker's speech that never got to the point was extremely boring. There were amusing moments like the class singing the Alma Mater (most didn't even know the words) and the professor taking the Recessional (done to Radetzcky's (sp?) March) a little too seriously and leaving everyone behind. Heh. It was a good time though. I think the faculty, staff, and guests were surprised we refused to toss our caps into the air at the end. That was one tradition we...

The Great Salty Dragon Debate!

Okay, not really. Just reading too many BSG posts. Salty. Dragon. As long as we know who everyone means it's all good. Though considering how long they've had him floating around the triad tables he'd have some sort of official callsign by now. **** *sarcasm Had a fun time fixing the laptop from a fun little trojan. /*sarcasm Lesson learned: Never let your friends (even a long time, well trusted friends) borrow your laptop. **** I went to the AE Department Chair's meeting with the graduating AEs. I was kind of surprised only 5 of us showed up, but then...

Wahooo!

Finals are done for me! *cartwheels* There was an odd moment with the class whiner "forgetting" to bring his calculator to the final, so I let him borrow my spare calculator which he attempted to abscond. Grr. Long story short, got the calc back and gave him a tongue lashing. So now there's just the graduation practice and swearing in for the Order of the Engineer on Friday and then the actual ceremony on Saturday and I'll have my shiny new Bachelor's degree. :-)

9 Days and snickering

9 days until graduation. And a note to all: don't sit behind a guest panel when groups are presenting aircraft designs that looks suspiciously like Cylon Raiders. (I'm not kidding when I say it looked like one of the students sketched a Raider.) Fortunately I knew all the panel members (who seemed to get why I was snickering). So I'm basically free until Astrophysics final on Monday and the graduation ceremony.

10 Days and counting

10 days until the ravenous hordes are unleashed upon an innocent unsuspecting world graduation! Eagles gather near, we lift our voices loud and clear Soaring high, oh Alma Mater, threads of blue and gold United we soar, in vast open skies Embry-Riddle, we hail thee, great memories well hold So here's to you old ERAU Alma Mater true, We pledge in love and harmony Our loyalty to you Singing thy praise, remembering the days Coast to coast, around the world, our bond forever true Embracing our dreams, with pride far and wide Embry-Riddle, we hail thee, great memories well hold...

Still alive, just busy with things. Probably will be for the last few weeks of school and then graduation. I had a nice Thanksgiving holiday. I hope the rest of you did as well. 17 days until graduation! *flaily...well not so much flail* Just...eeee! The job search is going well, maybe too well if there is such a thing. It's nice to have options. Don't know about where everyone else lives but it's been freakin' cold here the last few days, made to feel worse with the winds. (With wind chill 14 degree) *shiver* Hmm. It would be a good...

Stupid Tricks

Stupid Human Tricks The PS3 craze is insane. The people acting like such morons and letting themselves fall for such an obvious ploy to fleece them for as much money as possible are nts. Stupid people. Stupid Animal Tricks I felt sorry for this bird at school today. The finch flew flatout into one of the glass doors. Knocked itself clean out. Some of us honestly thought the bird had killed itself until we prodded a little bit and it came around. It was groggy and probably had a nasty headache given it just sat around for an hour before...

Friday!

In which I ramble on school, sunburns, BSG, and the Stargate marathon. It's friday and the first week of classes have come to an end. Over all it went well, aside from the S&I prof getting slightly ticked when I refused to switch to the second lab to be with the rest of the astronautical engineers. I did have a valid reason: the lab time conflicted with my Astrophysics class, a tech elective I need to graduate, that I chose after they cancelled my preferred class, Computational Fluid Dynamics and had nothing more than  a passing interest in the Composite...

Miscellaneous

School was okay today, though I've apparently ticked off the S&I prof simply because I'm not an Aerospace Engineering student but an Astronautical Engineering student. That and I already took Detail. Poor baby can't deal with a student not being sheeple. She's in for a rude awakening given what I know about the people in the class and the fact that the school encourages unorthodox thinking among the AEs. The Astrophysics prof is awesome. Well organized, laid back, and doesn't try to BS his way through a question if he doesn't know the answer. The only creepy thing about him...

I'm still here, just still working out some things in RL which is part of the reason for so few updates over the last few days. Just decided to relax a bit and browse LJ and some boards. Cable is out again, much to annoyance of the Cable company as well as myself. They're supposed to send a tech to check it out today but so far no one's shown up. Depending on if anyone shows up and fixes it I may not see Dead Like Me and Eureka tonight. I might be slightly miffed at missing Eureka, except SFC...
