Warning: Possible Spoilerish short commentary. Stargate SG-1 I actually liked tonights episode. Much more so that last week's snooze fest. The dialogue and plot seemed more like the old school episodes where you actually did feel the characters were in truly in peril. Plus it was nice to see the writer's continue not to hold back the punches with Carter getting more traditionally wounded instead of the usual alien posession shtick. That and the writer's actually showing the harsher side of the Orii soldiers through Vala's ex. Stargate Atlantis The episode was okay but felt entirely too much like a filler episode, which is fine. I guess this one gets classified as the "Save the Whales" episode. The whale stuff was kind of interesting and at least built on previously established canon, which is always good. Snerked at the snark of course. Painkiller Jane Or as I've started calling the show: Brainkiller Lame. Strike two! Tonight's episode: lame. Lame, lame, lame, lame, lame. Did I mention that it was lame? Seriously, I swear the episode was written by someone who failed a creative writing correspondence writing course and then took an Intro to Psychology class in order to try and learn how to manipulate people and sound like a psuedo-intillectual (and failed that too!). As for Kristanna Loken, I felt like she just phoned this episode in. Which is sad since I've seen her in other things and she seemed like a decent actress. Not great, but decent. This? Meh. One more episode for them to show me it's worth watching. Right now, it's not happening. Too juvenile and moronic with poor dialog, pointless faux self realization monologues that sound that wander into the realm of overly emo, and relying on Loken's look rather than reasonably intelligent plots. I won't even get into the scenes I swore were done by puppets they were so wooden and stilted. OK. I think I've ripped that show enough tonight. I will give it one more chance despite my rantings above.
