BSG Glee

I've been catching up on BSG con reports since I don't really feel like hobbling around on my bad ankle and only have about an hour before I go ahead and finish up my Astrophysics reading assignment. I've been  enjoying the various personal stories and even different interpretations of what was said and done. I've been gleeing over the spoilers, though the love triangle/quadrangle/choose your geometric shape of choice relationships are not really spoilerish. More soap opera-ish but hey, that's okay if it means a return to good stories, characters, character interaction and development. Of course, I'm also drooling over...

Miscellaneous

School was okay today, though I've apparently ticked off the S&I prof simply because I'm not an Aerospace Engineering student but an Astronautical Engineering student. That and I already took Detail. Poor baby can't deal with a student not being sheeple. She's in for a rude awakening given what I know about the people in the class and the fact that the school encourages unorthodox thinking among the AEs. The Astrophysics prof is awesome. Well organized, laid back, and doesn't try to BS his way through a question if he doesn't know the answer. The only creepy thing about him...
Not much to say today. It was the first day of classes, but the EGR class was about what I expected: not boring, but not really learning anything that I hadn't already learned in industry. The administration is still deciding whether to just give the work experience as credit and let me drop the class and possibly become a TA instead. I hope they do so, then I can make some money and still get to play with CATIA while helping the new students get familiar with the program. Heh. It would be nearly identical to part of my duties...

SG-1 and Atlantis Reviews

SF fandom is apparently a small world

Well if nothing else the recent hack let me discover that I'm with the same host as SG1-Atlantis.com . Heh. (A site i like  and visit, btw.) Makes me wonder how many SF fan sites are using the same hosting company. 🙂 I really should be pissed off about the hack attempt but somehow I'm not. I guess I'm jaded to the whole hacker thing now and just keep weekly (or monthly) backups of everything so I don't have to worry anymore. In a way this is also ironic as I might be getting a job with a web hosting...

Skiffy, Space, and Cons

Someone doesn't like Skiffy... I was kind of amused that some fell for the Sci Fi Channel changing it's name to Surge TV bit. Amusing because the whole thing did not start out at a Universal news release. Seriously people, when was the last time that Universal didn't put out a news item of this importance from a secondary source? Never believe something unless you hear it from those in the know, people. As the Russians say, "Trust but verify". Alas, Pluto... So the IAU has decided to redefine planet and move  Pluto to the "dwarf planet" category. The IAU...
