fly by post

Still alive, just busy with things. Probably will be for the last few weeks of school and then graduation. I had a nice Thanksgiving holiday. I hope the rest of you did as well. 17 days until graduation! *flaily...well not so much flail* Just...eeee! The job search is going well, maybe too well if there is such a thing. It's nice to have options. Don't know about where everyone else lives but it's been freakin' cold here the last few days, made to feel worse with the winds. (With wind chill 14 degree) *shiver* Hmm. It would be a good...

Even keeled and stuff…

It's funny how everything seems to balance out for me. I didn't get the job in Florida, as I had hoped. But, I can't be too disappointed because I do have one firm offer waiting (in GA), and three more prospective jobs that are looking good (two in AZ, one in WA) and two of them are related to the FL opportunity. I kind of hope I get the WA job since I already know four people working at the company in question in addition to several more people I know living in the Seattle area. I love AZ but...

BSG Shallowness

On a more shallow note... Spoilers for Heo and the forthcoming 3.09 I found Adama wiping the tear from his eye after telling Lee about the black op and his fears that the Colonies were destroyed because of him touching. Pirate!Tigh Lives! But the patch needs to be black. With a skull and bones on it. Yeah. And let him get some stubble back so he can be scruffy too. Go for the whole piratey look. (Minus the pegleg and parrot of course.) I said it once. I'll say it again: Noodles/Chopsticks! BSG's true OTP! The Valkyrie is a pretty...

More BSG “Hero” thoughts

Warning: Spoilers for Hero Okay, aside from my mind being now all twisticated thanks to now completely frakked up timeline (more on that later) I did get to thinking a bit more on Adama. I've decided that I Adama's actions and reactions are in character for him, if a brought on a bit suddenly (or a bit late, depending upon your perspective) into the storyline. We've always known Adama feels thing much more deeply than he wants people to see, especially with regards to protecting those under his command. Bulldog's arrival brought back a reminder of Adama's failure to protect...

Doctor Who “The Impossible Planet”

Warning: Spoilers for US Viewers Doctor Who “The Impossible Planet” Part 1 of 2  Plot Summary: The Doctor and Rose land on a planet at the edge of a black hole and encounter the Ood where odd things start occuring. Viewing Commentary: Welcome to Hell. Hmm. Nice welcome.Ok. The Doctor hugging the Captain and his captain about humans.Ah yes. All the...

Stupid Tricks

Stupid Human Tricks The PS3 craze is insane. The people acting like such morons and letting themselves fall for such an obvious ploy to fleece them for as much money as possible are nts. Stupid people. Stupid Animal Tricks I felt sorry for this bird at school today. The finch flew flatout into one of the glass doors. Knocked itself clean out. Some of us honestly thought the bird had killed itself until we prodded a little bit and it came around. It was groggy and probably had a nasty headache given it just sat around for an hour before...

Gleeful round up

I'm gleeful this evening. Very gleeful. First there is the very thud-worthy Jamie Bamber pic. *wipes drool from chin* *squee!* Second, Ausiello revealing Christpher Eccleston is joining the cast of Heroes. EEEEE!!!! Third, found some interesting recipes for Chinese food I want to try. Fourth, two job interviews in a week. Yay! Fifth, I got some vidding done. Woohoo. Sixth, totally aced exams. Seventh, still having fun with Usenet. Eighth, finally ripped some of my CDs to mp3 so I can load 'em up on the mp3 player. GLEE!

gray goes old skool, tho not ghetto

I'm not sure why but I felt the urge to wander through one of my old favorite stomping grounds from when I first gained access to the Internet and the WWW: Usenet. Of course, I had to go about it in a round about way (Google Groups to be specific) since my ISP no longer supports NNTP. (Bastards! j/k) Too bad 'cause I have a nifty client I can't use now unless I pay extra. (Not happening!) Still it was fun to once more be browsing those lovely alpha numeric groups the seem to exist in an infinite multitude: alt.2600,...
