It's been fairly quiet here the last couple of days, aside from the news helicopter accident that made it onto some of the news wires. A tragic event to be sure, but it was better the crash occured at Steele Indian School Park than the VA hospital, the hotel, the high school (my old high school Central High), or the apartment complex. I briefly met one of the pilots once and he seemed like a nice guy, serious about his job and everything. Sadly, I expect the NTSB is going to find that it was pilot error that caused the crash, in this case distracted by the events the two helicopters were covering.
I wish I could say I was surprised it happened, but the news chopper crews were, in my opinion, getting overly aggressive about covering news stories. Heck, they had three choppers covering the car that caught fire across the street from the house. I guess they wanted to catch all the shattered glass and exploding tires when they got superheated by the flames rather than the ugly truth of the driver getting burned.
Sorry if I sound a bit jaded there, but I'm tired of newscasters treating everything like the news is something fictional meant to entertain and excite instead of involving real people and their lives. Too much video reality I guess.
And on to more light-hearted things...
I read some of the stuff coming out of Comicon on BSG's forthcoming mini-series/movie/whatever, Razor. Sure not a lot of info on Razor or season 4 but enough to keep me interested.
I was playing Guild Wars the other day working on my Tyrian cartographer title and found the oft-mentioned "Edge of the World" glitch. (I've heard others call it the End of the World glitch too). I should post the screen caps of it that I took of my Ranger and pet on the edge of the world. GW players will get a kick out of it I think, especially those who are trying for the mapping titles.
