Battlestar Galactica 3.03 “Exodus, Pt 1”

Warning: Spoilers!

Battlestar Galactica 3.03 “Exodus, Pt 1”

Plot: The Resistance endures a crackdown by the Cylons while Adama puts the rescue operation into motion.

Commentary:

  • One Hour Earlier. Arg! Time jumping again. Okay not as bad as some but still. The device is getting old. Beyond old. We’re talking ancient.
  • Ellen’s helping Saul with bandaging the eye.
  • Hey Chief is shaved. It’s almost strange to see a clean shaven Chief.
  • Chief arrives to speak to Tigh about rescuing those on the execution list.
  • Using previous data, Tyrol figures out where the detainees were sent.
  • Nice to see a female Marine who knows what she’s doing. Not typical of most SF shows.
  • Pergamus Flats. Execution site.
  • Chief and his squad get there in time to stop it from happening.
  • Okay a bit of revisionist filming I take it. Okay. Fine. Better than revisionist storylines I guess.
  • And Anders figures out Ellen betrayed the Resistance.
  • Three having strange dreams about Hera.
  • Caprica Six is back with Gaius, who is still out of sorts about everything he’s done and become during the occupation.
  • Kara seems to be bonding somewhat to Kacey.
  • Three actually visits an oracle about her visions. Who passes onto Three that Hera is alive. And that she will experience true love.
  • Dee is worried about never seeing the Galactica crew again.
  • I like the little line ceremony held before the op began between Peggy and Galactica crew. And the goodbye between Lee and Adama. I love Family Adama moments.
  • 18 hours to rescue the population and meet back up with Peggy? Seems like an awfully short amount of time. Then again, given the odds against the Galactica, 18 hours is probably just the right amount of time.
  • Heh. Even Three knows Jake the Dog.
  • Cottle! Yay.
  • Three confronts Cottle about Hera but the Doc stocks to the story, of course.
  • Cavill bitching about being left to die when he was going to execute some 200 humans. Talk about hypocrisy. But then he is a Cylon. He apparently also doesn’t like downloading as it has become painful any more and that the occupation is a failure.
  • The Resistance is planning their massive attack against critical Cylon positions.
  • Anders confronts Tigh with the truth of Ellen’s betrayal.
  • I feel sorry for Ellen in as much as her betrayal was out of love for Saul. Otherwise, I feel no sympathy.
  • Three catches Sharon getting the keys and tells her that Hera is alive.
  • Kat looks a bit tense. So does Racetrack.
  • Kelly!
  • And so it begins… (yeah, yeah B5 quote rip off)

Miscellaneous Comments:

I don’t really have much to say about this episode except: Damn! I’m now on the edge of my seat for next week’s episode.
