Warning! The following post contains some spoilers for season 3 of Voltron Legendary Defender Do not click Read More if you're trying to avoid spoilers Voltron Season 3 Love the return of the show, even if the season is a short one, episode wise. Mainly this post is to get some thoughts off my mind but not blow up the twitter feed with the spoilery spammage of scintillating story that season 3 has sparked. Quick points: Musical chairs with the lions has commenced, without the music. I really like this version of Lotor, reminds me of GoLion's Sincline before getting...

Science Fiction & Fantasy Musings

Movies So some interesting (I think) science fiction movies appear to be on their way. Eve, if they're cheesy at least it means somebody in Hollywood is trying to be somewhat original ([!]). Battleship- A science fiction twisted version of the classic board game. Okay, not original in that it is a game but what the hell, better than remakes of movies I saw as a kid, and perpetually remaking Batman every other month. Don't get me wrong, the remake of Clash of the Titans was decent (particularly the f/x) but otherwise...meh. Cowboys and Aliens- I give credit for the...

Stargate Universe “Darkness”

Warning: Spoilers Below the Cut! Stargate Universe Ep 4 “Darkness” Plot Summary: The Destiny’s power reserves become dangerously low. Viewing Commentary: Rush seems a bit jumpy. Probably need to go decaf or something.Yum, powdered food paste.Mathboy ad he upbeat morning meeting.Me thinks Rush is headed for a breakdown.Eli does vlogs (aka meet the characters)*sigh* More old scifi references. Look, as a sci-fi aficionado I like old science fiction shows, movies, books, etc. That doesn’t mean I go spouting randomly about them.Ah the first meeting of the “We Hate Rush Club”. Nice. Colonel passes on Rush’s warning not to turn things...

Stargate Universe “Air, Pt 3”

Warning; Spoilers Under the Cut! Stargate Universe Ep 3 “Air, Part 3” Plot Summary: The refugees have 12 hours to find the means to their survival on a barren desert world. Viewing Commentary: Kino over the dune.I like the newly designed Stargates. The CGI is certainly excellent and somewhat improved over the original.Science lesson lady. Hee. I’m having flashbacks to the days when a show was considered “educational” by the FCC if they spewed out a few minutes of science.I still say Lt. Scott is an idiot for wearing black. Bet he’ll end up as red as a lobster by...

Quick post

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Mine was a bit small this year with just my mom and brother as most of the family couldn't afford to travel to Phoenix this year. Let's see, I've been busy helping my mom with her new business and the feral cat colony. Also been helping some unemployed friends look for work. Trying to get my brother to get his welding certificate since he's interested in welding and says he'd like to get into doing that sort of work, especially for autos. Doing lots of house renovation and remodeling. Getting back into playing...

Digital Art: Floating Dolphins

An old one, but still one of my favorites. One of my early artistic endeavors from back in 2004 using Paint Shop Pro. Floating Dolphins was the banner for my now defunct Floating Dolphins blog over at ThirdsphereNet. Sometimes I think I'd like to recreate it knowing I could do a much better job now.

Digital Art: Landscape 02

Hey all, I'm going to be trying to post some of my digital art (good and bad) once or twice a week depending on what's available. I've got a back log right now but I expect I'll exhaust that out before I'm ready with any new stuff I've been working on in Blender, Gimp and some other programs. About Landscape 2 It's an rough city/landscape I was working on to try out some atmospheric effects in Gimp. The building kind of suck, but I don't complain to much since I only spent about an hour or so on this one,...

Virtually Thinking

Hmm...LJ acting a little funky tonight for me. Oh well.EphemeralityIs the foundation of theIntarwebz. Or not.Virtuality will be airing this Friday, June 26. While I would like to think the pilot would be picked up I doubt it will. In the end ratings and FIX execs will decide that and given network televisions wariness of science fiction shows that likelihood of a series pickup is small.Even that aside, I'm not confident the base premise can hold up. It follows thus: A twelve person crew on a star ship named Phaeton is on a decade mission that is supposedly essential for...

Crossing Back

Cross the river Styx,Sailing from darkness to light...Oh wait, never mind.Okay, I'm going to try (once more) to get myself posting regularly here about assorted science fiction, television, and so on, starting now. So what brief topics of discussion....Thirdsphere.Net is back, albeit in somewhat disarray while I work on the entirely new design for the site. I hate the current temporary skin I'm using for the main area but it'll do for now. I'll be trying to update that site's content again, at least once a week. Probably on the weekends.Brief Science Fiction and Television Fandom and News CommentsSci Fi...
