Guild Wars So this week Nicholas the Traveler is collecting parchment. I guess they had to make the collectible easier after last week's somewhat annoying (though still easy) sapphire djinn essence collection. Guess I'll go do that after seeing what's the latest out of Iran and check the other blog. Then off to call D.R. on getting the info for that web banner his customer wants. (I'll seriously consider kicking his ass if he loses another client because of his laziness. Okay, actually I'll just not offer my services to him any longer, but you get the idea.) And then...
I'm behind in my intended update of the Thirdsphere website, but progress is being made. Technically I suppose it's ready for use, but there are some sections I still want to tweak a bit. Here's the addy for those who'd like to take a look at the changes so far: Thirdsphere. There's still some bugs but I'm particularly interested in what the BSG and Farscape fans think of the newly reworked areas of the site.Changes made to the site:Switched to Joomla CMS from PHP-NukeUpdated Fiction archive from eFiction 2.0 to eFiction 3.0. Also renamed it the subtitle to "Flights of...
*shock* *gasp* Two posts in two days!. (j/k. I'm trying to get back into the habit of posting to this poor neglected LJ at least once a day as ell as get back to reading and commenting on others LJs.) Anyway, if all goes as planned the Thirdsphere.Net relaunch will happen January 1, 2009. I've let Sebacea.com pass into fandom history (if anyone even remembers it, lol) and will be archiving the old site with Thirdsphere. Right now in the final graphics touch ups and debugging to all segments except the fiction archive. After much consideration I decided to redo...
After hours of grueling coding (okay, not that grueling, more tedious) and more than a few foul epithets I finally solved the issues I had with the skin I was working on for my eFiction based Thirdsphere Fiction Archive. I hate debugging especially when you discover the problem isn't your skin but several variables in the proggy's code that actually very simple to alter. Doh! I should update to the newer version of eFiction but it's just my own writing so I don't really feel especially compelled to do so. Now, if I was still running the Skrillwerks Fiction Archive,...
Geek alert! Well I'm feeling a bit geeky right now having finally figured out how to get BSG type angles using only CSS. (Good bye pesky gifs!) Now i can spam BSG fandom with octogonal paper! Mwahaha! I'm sure there are tutorials or something out there on how to create them but I wanted to figure it out on my own. I should go and see what others haave come up with and see if they have better coding but I'm still pleased with the results none the less. /Geek alert!
For some reason it didn't really hit me until today that there is only one episode left for BSG Season 3, warts and all. Ack! How long is the drought going to be this time? I've been working a few BSG projects: an new BSG inspired CMS layout I've nicknamed Colonial Basic, some BSG inspired emoticons and graphics, and trying to finish up some fanfic. It's interesting and challenging trying to design an original CMS layout. It certainly has gotten me thinking about learning Flash and finding new techniques to create interesting GUIs and menus. Claudia Black is on the...
I'm gleeful this evening. Very gleeful. First there is the very thud-worthy Jamie Bamber pic. *wipes drool from chin* *squee!* Second, Ausiello revealing Christpher Eccleston is joining the cast of Heroes. EEEEE!!!! Third, found some interesting recipes for Chinese food I want to try. Fourth, two job interviews in a week. Yay! Fifth, I got some vidding done. Woohoo. Sixth, totally aced exams. Seventh, still having fun with Usenet. Eighth, finally ripped some of my CDs to mp3 so I can load 'em up on the mp3 player. GLEE!
Something non-BSG. Heh. Phwew. I think I've actually caught up with all my flist entries (aside from a couple BSG comms) for the week. Didn't comment much though. I'm glad to hear Eureka got renewed for another season. Yay! Heroes is still good, though I think it'll just end up on my second tier viewing list. My friend D wants me to design another banner for one of his customers. I'll do it, since it's a good way to improve graphic skills and get some minor recognition, though I could tell he was a bit ticked when I reminded him...
Well I didn't find anything gleeful on LJ but at least there was some interesting things to read elsewhere on the Net. So instead of continuing to wasting time I'll log off and get some work around the apartment like baking the orange-cranberry bread and lemon bars I keep procrastinating on. Web Site News I've been being awfully lax on updating and working on both Thirdsphere and Sebacea.com. I'm way behind in posting tv, music, and program reviews as well as artwork, graphics, and news articles at Thirdsphere in particular and continuing to work on the Wiki at Sebacea. On...
